How can I make my hair crimpy wavy?

My hair has a natural wave to it. However, I would love the hairstyle that has a crimpy wave to it. A lot of people I have asked say to use gel, but the the gel I use makes my hair wavy but it makes it poof out. How can I get those beachy waves? What brand of gel do you use? Oh, and I prefer not to use any heated tools if possible.

Use John Frieda (brunette I'm assuming) mousse.

When you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair.

When you take the towel down, make your normal part, but DO NOT brush your hair.

Put a handful of mousse in your hair, then scrunch!

It helps alot flipping your hair upside down.

Then let it air dry. Hope I helped!

Braid it into a few different braids (three or four) when it's wet or damp. Sleep with it like that. In the morning, take your hair out of the braids. It will be in beachy waves and will stay like that for most of the day.

heated tools are pretty much neccesary. beauty is pain.

spray your hair with salt water (this will help scrunch it) then try a diffuser.

if that doesnt work straighten your hair and then use a one inch barrel curling iron. and finger style.

when it's wet brush it out then when it's basicly straight put your flat palm on the bottom so i's barely touching your hair then push up and grab your hair it will make it so it drys crimped and looks really cute!!

You could try braiding your hair wet at night, then taking them out in the morning; but this only works if you have the patience to take out the braid carefully, or it will be super frizzy.

But you could alos try scrunching your hair with either moose or gel. I use a curl/wave defining moose from paintene and scrunch it on damp hair. Here's a link that describes how to do it...

I always found scrunching to be the best, but a heated crimper works too, but can damage hair. But good look anyway!

When your hair is sitll damp apply the gel and then braid your hair in smaller sections, so you have about 5-10 braids in your hair.It depends on the thickness. The thicker the braids the loser the waves will be.Leave them in overnight and in the morning you should look like your fresh from the beach!! I hope it helps a little!

When i want beachy waves i do this...........

1)shower or rinse hair(just get it wet)

2)Comb it

3)put a mousse in it(i use Aussie dual personality mousse and leave-in conditioner)

4)put it all up in 3 or 4 messy buns

5)leave in until hair is dry then let out and enjoy the curl and bounce
