How to have my hair wavy when its terrible?

when my hair is kinda frizzy and straight and poofy and weird at the same time. i have my hair in two layer and it reaches like a little lower than my shoulders and i made myself a french braid, slept with it all night and when i took it out in the morning. it didn't look wavy at all. well it did. but only on the bottom layer and the top layer was like still frizzy...ughh what to do? please help?

my life would be easier if i could just do a french braid at night, take it out in the morning, maybe a lil hair spray and good to go. but it doesn' t seem to be working..why

added details:

oh and i've also tried the whole just crunch it thing and it just wont. what is that bun thing? how do u do the bun hair? does it realy work?

i dont know what you mean with the bun thing.... but what i do is put my hair up in a bun when i go to sleep and in the morning it does look a lot wavier than before.

sometimes i dont even sleep with it because of how curly it gets... if you put it in a bun in the back of your head for like 30 minutes its almost sure that you'll get waves (at least wavier than with a braid)

hope it works for you too!!

have you tried putting a TON of HEAVY hair gel in before you braid it? i've done the same for my daughter %26amp; except for a few minor touch ups, she didn't have to take it down for 2 1/2 days!!!!!!!!!! also, and i know this is going to sound off the wall, but get maybe 1/2 inch trimmed every other month on the day of the next full moon. your hair will grow back a lot faster!!!!

this may seem anti-solution... but try flat-iron it when it's still damp. then french braid it over night. Spritz it with water and use a curling mousse/gel to "scrunsh" and crunch it all up in the morning.

That should work. If not, you may wanna go to a hair stylist and ask them what to do. They''l be able to play with your hair and help you figure out solutions in person.

It could be your shampoo or do you live in an area with high humidity? I would at least once a week go to a salon and ask for a deep conditioning treatment. If that is not feasable, buy a really good quality deep conditioner and follow the directions. John Frieda makes a great deep conditioner and also shampoos and regular conditioners to tame frizzies. Instead of making one french braid, try braiding in smaller sections for stronger and lasting waves. Good luck!
