An alternative method to calm down poofy wavy hair ?

I considered to Yuko (permanently straighten) my hair but I realized that i want to embrace my natural hair. However, i was wondering if there is anything i can do to calm down the poofy and the frizz and add shine...basically make it look healthier. I want to have a professional treatment done...I believe they put vitamins or deep conditioning treatment i really don't know...

so please no quick temporary fixes as in mousse, gel, oils, daily conditioners...THANK YOU!!

Frizzy Hair!

To treat and condition frizzy hair,

add a tablepsoon of Honey to a litre of Water and,

use it as an after-shampoo rinse.

Dry Rough n Wavy Hair Treatment!

Massage your hair ith warm Almond Oil

Apply 5 tablespoons of honey on the scalp and hair, followed by turban therapy.

You will an noticeable difference as soon as you shampoo your hair after an hour later.

Regular oiling and conditioning will make your hair soft and manageable.

I don閳ユ獩 think there閳ユ獨 anything that frustrates women more than a case of frizzies or 閳ユ笡oofy hair.閳?So what can one do to get control of the dreaded FRIZZIES?

Over 80% of women suffer with dry brittle or frizzy hair. To find a fix for your frizzies your going to need to find the underlying cause. Harsh chemicals in dyes and bleaches, excessive blow drying, to many 閳ユ笗ousse閳?or 閳ユ笀el閳?products, chlorine, and even your shampoo and conditioner can all contribute to your frizzies.

Below is a host of suggestions that have worked for some. You閳ユ獟l need to experiment until you find the right mix.

If you have naturally curly hair f hair is naturally curly, it is usually frizzy. If you live in a humid climate it can be even more of a challenge.

What you need to use is a product like 閳ユ笡omade.閳? It has a low level of hold and they also have some oil in them. Wash and condition as usual. Then rinse with the coldest water you can stand because the cold water "locks down" the hair cuticle and makes hair appear less frizzy.

Next place the pomade in your hand and add a little water for easier spreading, and then very lightly finger it through your hair. Avoid the scalp or you閳ユ獟l get a greasy look. Let it dry and then comb through it if you want, or leave it if the curls look good.

Apply a home remedy hair mask weekly. Mix one egg to one part mayo and one part olive oil. This will make a paste which you apply to your hair. Wrap snuggly in towel and wait 45 minutes. Rinse out, shampoo and condition as normal. Helps give hair a smooth shiny appearance.

If your hair is color treated or permed frizzies can occur from the chemical damage. Use a non oil based deep conditioning treatment that is heat activated. You a small amount of gel or pomade.

Add a dime size dab of Natural Vegetable Glycerin to a quarter size dab of mousse or gel. Wet your other hand then rub two hands together to mix, then run through your hair and style as usual.

If the Ph of your hair is off balance you could develop the frizzies. Rather than spending large amounts of money on products, a simple home solution is this. Get a big plastic cup, fill it with 闄?cup apple vinegar and 闄?cup water. Shampoo and condition as normal then use this mix as a final rinse. The vinegar corrects the Ph and smoothes the cuticle.

Alberto VO5 in a tube is relatively cheap and lasts forever. Rub a small amount in your palms then run your hands through your hair.

If your hair is really dry don閳ユ獩 rinse all of your conditioner out. Leave a light layer in the hair. This can add weight but it works very well on really dry days.

Another great trick with conditioner is to get a misting bottle fill with water then add some conditioner, shake well, and use as a mist on your hair to help control frizz.

any have also said they use plain Vaseline. You will have to experiment with this. Wash and condition as normal. If you are blow drying this will usually result in a nasty case of frizzies. Take a small amount of Vaseline and work it into your hands, then begin glossing your hair with your greasy hands working it in really well. Then continue blow drying on low.

The heat and the Vaseline apparently provide a nice gloss

Castor oil is inexpensive, and it leaves the hair soft, shiny and smooth.

Try to not use a hair brush because it will cause split ends on thick hair and frizzy hair. A hair pick works best on wet hair and finger comb dry hair.

Do not rub your hair with a towel when wet. Pat dry or wrap and wait 10 minutes. Try not to use a blow dryer, air drying is best as it will cut down on split ends and frizz.

If you must use a blow dryer then use one with the diffuser attachment and use on low heat.

You can win the frizzies battle with a little patience and creativity!

Moisture

Hair which is naturally frizzy lacks moisture and protein. Thus, the first step you need to take is to ensure your hair has sufficient moisture.

Apply egg yolk to your hair around half an hour before washing your hair.

Wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo, and follow up with a conditioner. Unless you exercise, you need wash your hair only once a week.

Invest in leave-in conditioner. After washing and conditioning, towel dry hair and apply a small amount of leave-in conditioner to the ends of your hair.

Styling your hair

If your hair is frizzy, you will need to spend some time styling it if you want it to look good. Do you want to go straight or curly? Once you have that worked out, apply a generous dollop of gel to damp hair to hold the style and to tame frizzies, and get started.

Curly:

Apply rollers and leave them on until your hair dries completely. Avoid applying heated rollers unless essential. You could also apply sponge rollers at night, and remove them the next morning.

Straight:

If you want to straighten your hair instead, blowdry it straight with the help of a round brush.

Blowdrying all your hair together will be of little use; you need to blowdry small sections at a time.

Clip up the damp, unstyled hair with the help of two clips, and proceed to blowdry small sections, starting from the back of your head.

When the hair is almost dry, reduce the heat of the blow dryer so you don't over-dry it.

Be patient. The entire process may take half an hour. Don't rush it, or you will not get the results you want.

Grow your hair long, as short hair tends to curl faster. If your hair is long, due to the weight, the curls open up. Your hair would be far easier to blowdry, and it will stay straight longer.

Oil

Safflower oil is excellent for frizzy hair. When your hair is completely dry, after styling it, apply 2-3 drops of safflower oil to your palms and rub them together. Apply this oil to the ends of your hair. Use more oil for longer hair, but ensure that the amount you apply is very little, so your hair does not look sticky. Leave this oil on in your hair. This will help tame the frizzes.

Chemical Treatments

You could consider going in for a perm, so your frizzes get converted into glossy curls. If you long for straight hair, you could also opt for a straightening treatment, though a perm is less harsh than chemical straightening.

Whether you decide to perm or straighten your hair, you cannot afford to neglect it after the treatment as it could get damaged. But as long as you take care of your hair, oil it regularly, wash it gently and follow up with a conditioner, there should be no problem even after getting a chemical treatment done. Similarly, avoid going in for two chemical treatments together. If you must perm or straighten your hair, do not highlight it and vice versa.

Minimal Fuss

If you would rather not blowdry or style your hair, but simply want your frizzes to be manageable, here's what you could do:

1. Start growing your hair long.

2. After shampooing and conditioning, apply a few drops of oil to your damp hair.

3. Apply a generous amount of gel to your hair.

4. Brush your hair well, and then plait it.

5. When dry, open up the plait, and apply a little more gel to the ends of the hair, to tame any frizzes.

The result? Your hair may not look silky, but it will not be spreading out in all directions. The 'bushy' effect will be dramatically reduced, and your hair will look wavy and in control.

I put frizz ease in my hair before blow drying it and it goes really shiny and no frizzys. it works really good. I would try that.

but if you decided to go for the permanent straightening, i would go for the relaxer instead of japanese straightening because when they relax your hair it stays wavy but no frizz and still has body, but the japanese striaghtening has no body or wave.

hope that helped

Well, if you want first-class treatment for your hair, you definitely have to pay for the services in a well-known salon. Ask for hot oil treatment or rebonding (my personal preference is rebonding; it lasts longer and gives a silky shine). It is temporary but lasts for 6 months or more, depending on how much you take care of your hair. And don't blow-dry your hair often.. It could make it dry and frizzy.

i have never found a permanent solution that actually worked without frying your hair any way, making it straight and dry frizzy which is just as bad as wavy frizzy...lol!

I use a remington flat iron called a "Wet to Straight" Straightener. You can use it while your hair is wet or damp and it will straighten and dry your hair at the same time. It locks in natural moisture and really leaves it shiny and soft, it is awesome! as far as methods for trying to get wavy hair to be tame without temporary tricks there are really none... hair like mine and yours can go either way curly (with mousse, gels, etc) or straight pretty easily. A wash and go look is hard to pull off. Just keep using a good shampoo and conditioner and whatever temp. tricks that work good for you.

OK, I have the same exact problem, you can get this at Wal-mart, and it not expensive, it is called"Frizz -Ease", by John Frieda. It is a extra stength hair seum formula, that smooths, and controls chronic, unruly, and frizzy hair.( Im reading this straight off the bottle!) I love it! It works so great, and it washes out as hairspray or mousse would, and it doesnt make your hair weighed down like some other products, it just eases the frizz and "poof", I dont know how I lived with out it for so long!!!

Well go get a hot oil treatment from a salon or from the store or get a deep condiotioning treatment. Use a shampoo ans conditioner to put moisture back in the hair. you can't have a permanent fix. You need to use a poruct like a frizz control or a cream to calm frizziness. when drying the hair use a difuser attachment on your blow dryer it derfines the curl so much better and doesn't make it frizzy. well good luck

Try bain de terre recovery complex anti-frizz shine serum. Long name, I know, but I love it. Also, curl life shampoo and conditioner are amazing. If you blow dry...use a diffuser...it stops the dryer from blowing your hair all around and making it frizz, and it enhances natural waves. And lastly...don't wash your hair every day...just condition every other day or if you can stand it...two days in a row. Hope this helps! :)

hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

I know you didn't want conditioners but I'll tell you. I have really thick wavey and sometimes poofy hair. I've tried many shampoos and I found one. Pantene (or however you spell it). I use shine shampoo and frizz control conditioner. I also leave in the conditioner for about ten minutes. I works sooooooo well. My hair is shiney and not frizzy. You really should try it before doing anything permanent because it could mess up your hair. If you do want perfesional treatment then talk to a hair salon about it : )
