How do I wear my thick, wavy hair down so that it looks nice?

I have really thick, really wavy hair. It's a little past my shoulders %26amp; I want to know what products I can put it in to make it look nice when it's down. I would like maybe loose curls or something like that. Thanks :)

You should just get it layered! I have really thick hair to, but I just got it layered and now it looked great. Also it can make it have more gental curls.

Hi Sarah,

I also have thick wavy hair down to my shoulders. I have tried a lot of products and these are the best :

matrix curl like spray and mousse

garnier spray gel and mousse

finesse is also nice- really soft but strong hold, put it on, then some shine serum ( biosilk is great) and scrunch

let your hair air dry, if you must blow dry- use a diffuser

when you put mousse in, do it upside down to get lift at your roots

These products worked well for me. I am currently experimenting with natural products.

I have a spray with 4 ounces of water, 1 tsp of aloe vera (clear and pure), and a few drops of cocunut oil. shake and spray into hair.

sometimes, I just take coconut oil (vatika- any brand, available at indian store) and put that in my hair when it's wet. when it dries, it gives shiny and softness.

I don't know which approach you prefer, salon, drugstore, or natural. but try it out and i hope it works for you!

getting some shorter layers should balance the thickness out and use a serum or a good leave in conditioner. I think boots does frizeeze its 5 steps a shampoo, conditioner ,mousse serum and then a cream for finishing you only use a tiny amount of them all when doing you hair so it should last you a while.
