My hair easily gets that unkempt look... but overbrushing makes it worse.

Personally I think it starts with having a good cut. Go to a stylist that has experience cutting long wavy hair. Mine has made such a difference for me! Then I use Sleek Look by Matrix shampoo and conditioner. It adds some weight to my hair without getting rid of the curl and makes my hair less fly away and messy. You can follow up with a curl enhancer or straightening spray after your shower, whichever look you prefer.

When I don't want to deal with my hair, I definitely go the ponytail/bun route. I am also a big fan of large clips that will hold all of my hair.

what i usually do, is when i get out of the shower, I brush my hair. Then, I have this Garnier Fructis curl-shaping gel. what i do is i bend over and spritz it all into my hair and then scrunch it until my waves look neat and not messy. It's so easy and only takes like 30 seconds.

brush it till all the tangels are out then put it in a bun or pony tail. it stays out of your face and it keeps your hair from getting more tangley than it being down!
