join the club. there really isn't much you can do about your natural hair unless you want to go for extreme makeover-and often extreme bucks. Try out different conditioners until you find one that tames your hair a little bit (gets rid of some frizz!) If this doesn't work or isn't enough, try straightening creme. Often it won't straighten frizzy hair, but will just tame it. If you don't want to run the risk, you should look into gel, which will tame the frizz atleast.
Frizzy, poofy hair looks less so when left long- so don't cut your hair. When you get your hair trimmed or cut, have them thin and shape it.
Some good shampoos/conditioners are:
loreal thick n' shiny shampoo
Vo7 delight (thick n' frizzy) shampoo and conditioner
Another option is frizz control spray

Go and buy some hair lotion. Put some in your hand rub your
hands together and rub it into your hair. Once you have done
that then comb out your hair. That should help out with your
frizz. I for one use the stuff, I take a shower dry my hair and
rub some on my hand put it in my hair comb and whala. My
grand-daughters has 3 textures in their hair. the oldest has long curly
hair, plus when it is dried, we can come her hair into an Afro.
My oldest grandchild is 3 and we either just put conditioner on
her hair then comb out her hair. BBS Hair Lotion is not greasy.
Both of my grandchildren are Mexican/American/African/American
/White, (50%,25%,25%)
So try it and see if that helped out with the frizz.

If you want to add definition to your curls and tame the frizz at the same time... what you do is use a moisturising shampoo and conditioner - only partially rinse the conditioner out, ring the excess water out... then comb it with a afro comb while its still wet - then rinse the rest of the conditioner out... upside down from the back then the right way up... don't ring your hair dry - shake it holding your head upside down then scrunch the water out with your hands... then slightly scrunch with a towel but not too much
Then get some gel (curl booster or something with a bit of hold)... I recommend Wella Hypercurl ... only a little bit about 3 sqirts into you palms... rub your hands together then holding your head upside down with your hair forward, scrunch the gel evenly through... either let it dry naturally or use a hairdryer with a diffuser attachment - have the temperature on warm or cool (hot will make it frizzier)... when blow drying, hold the diffuser up to your scalp for a minute or so with sections of hair inside it... the key is not to dry it too much - best to let it dry naturally if you can
